Affliction (ii) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAA CDDCC EFFGE

Kill me not ev'ry dayA
Thou Lord of life since thy one death for meB
Is more than all my deaths can beB
Though I in broken payA
Die over each hour of Methusalem's stayA
-
If all men's tears were letC
Into one common sewer sea and brineD
What were they all compar'd to thineD
Wherein if they were setC
They would discolour thy most bloody sweatC
-
Thou art my grief aloneE
Thou Lord conceal it not and as thou artF
All my delight so all my smartF
Thy cross took up in oneG
By way of imprest all my future moanE
