Aaron Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABB BBBBB BBBBB BBBBB BBBBB

Holiness on the headA
Light and perfections on the breastB
Harmonious bells below raising the deadA
To lead them unto life and restB
Thus are true Aarons drestB
-
Profaneness in my headB
Defects and darkness in my breastB
A noise of passions ringing me for deadB
Unto a place where is no restB
Poor priest thus am I drestB
-
Only another headB
I have another heart and breastB
Another music making live not deadB
Without whom I could have no restB
In him I am well drestB
-
Christ is my only headB
My alone only heart and breastB
My only music striking me ev'n deadB
That to the old man I may restB
And be in him new drestB
-
So holy in my headB
Perfect and light in my dear breastB
My doctrine tun'd by Christ who is not deadB
But lives in me while I do restB
Come people Aaron's drestB
