Translation From Anacreon: Ode Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDBBEEFFGGHHIIBB JJKKLL

Mingle with the genial bowlA
The Rose the 'flow'ret' of the SoulA
The Rose and Grape together quaff'dB
How doubly sweet will be the draughtB
With Roses crown our jovial browsC
While every cheek with Laughter glowsD
While Smiles and Songs with Wine inciteB
To wing our moments with DelightB
Rose by far the fairest birthE
Which Spring and Nature cull from EarthE
Rose whose sweetest perfume givenF
Breathes our thoughts from Earth to HeavenF
Rose whom the Deities aboveG
From Jove to Hebe dearly loveG
When Cytherea's blooming BoyH
Flies lightly through the dance of JoyH
With him the Graces then combineI
And rosy wreaths their locks entwineI
Then will I sing divinely crown'dB
With dusky leaves my temples boundB
Ly us in thy bowers of pleasureJ
I'll wake a wildly thrilling measureJ
There will my gentle Girl and IK
Along the mazes sportive flyK
Will bend before thy potent throneL
Rose Wine and Beauty all my ownL
