To D' Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF

In thee I fondly hop'd to claspA
A friend whom death alone could severB
Till envy with malignant graspA
Detach'd thee from my breast for everB
-
-
True she has forc'd thee from my breastC
Yet in my heart thou keep'st thy seatD
There there thine image still must restC
Until that heart shall cease to beatD
-
And when the grave restores her deadE
When life again to dust is givenF
On thy dear breast I'll lay my headE
Without thee where would be my HeavenF
