There Was A Time, I Need Not Name Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGI JKJL BLBL

There was a time I need not nameA
Since it will ne'er forgotten beB
When all our feelings were the sameA
As still my soul hath been to theeB
-
And from that hour when first thy tongueC
Confess'd a love which equall'd mineD
Though many a grief my heart hath wrungC
Unknown and thus unfelt by thineD
-
None none hath sunk so deep as thisE
To think how all that love hath flownF
Transient as every faithless kissE
But transient in thy breast aloneF
-
And yet my heart some solace knewG
When late I heard thy lips declareH
In accents once imagined trueG
Remembrance of the days that wereI
-
Yes my adored yet most unkindJ
Though thou wilt never love againK
To me 'tis doubly sweet to findJ
Remembrance of that love remainL
-
Yes 'tis a glorious thought to meB
Nor longer shall my soul repineL
Whate'er thou art or e'er shall beB
Thou hast been dearly solely mineL
