Song (breeze Of The Night In Gentler Sighs) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GBGB FHFH

Breeze of the night in gentler sighsA
More softly murmur o'er the pillowB
For Slumber seals my Fanny's eyesA
And Peace must never shun her pillowB
-
Or breathe those sweet olian strainsC
Stolen from celestial spheres aboveD
To charm her ear while some remainsC
And soothe her soul to dreams of loveD
-
But Breeze of night again forbearE
In softest murmurs only sighF
Let not a Zephyr's pinion dareE
To lift those auburn locks on highF
-
Chill is thy Breath thou breeze of nightG
Oh ruffle not those lids of SnowB
For only Morning's cheering lightG
May wake the beam that lurks belowB
-
Blest be that lip and azure eyeF
Sweet Fanny hallowed be thy SleepH
Those lips shall never vent a sighF
Those eyes may never wake to weepH
