Parody Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQ

For one long term or e'er her trial cameA
Here Brownrigg linger'd Often have these cellsB
Echoed her blasphemies as with shrill voiceC
She scream'd for fresh Geneva Not to herD
Did the blithe fields of Tothill or thy streetE
St Giles its fair varieties expandF
Till at the last in slow drawn cart she wentG
To execution Dost thou ask her crimeH
She whipp'd two female 'prentices to deathI
And hid them in the coal hole For her mindJ
Shap'd strictest plans of discipline Sage schemesK
Such as Lycurgus taught when at the shrineL
Of the Orthyan Goddess he bade flogM
The little Spartans such as erst chastisedN
Our Milton when at College For this actO
Did Brownrigg swing Harsh laws but time shall comeP
When France shall reign and laws be all repeal'dQ
