Zwei Konige Auf Orkadal. From The German Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA BC AA DD EE AA AA

There sat two kings upon OrkadalA
The torches flamed in the pillared hallA
-
The minstrel sings the red wine glowsB
The two kings drink with gloomy browsC
-
Out spake the one Give me this girlA
With her sea blue eyes and brow of pearlA
-
The other answered in gloomy scornD
She's mine oh brother my oath is swornD
-
No other word spake either kingE
In their golden sheaths the keen swords ringE
-
Together they pass from the lighted hallA
Deep lies the snow by the castle wallA
-
Steel sparks and torch sparks in showers fallA
Two kings lie dead upon OrkadalA
