Sleeping Beauty. A Parable Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

You remember the nursery legendA
We heard in the early daysB
Ere we knew of the world's deceptionC
Or walked in its dusty waysB
And dwelt in a land of the fairiesD
Where the air was golden hazeB
-
Of the maid o'er whom the SummersE
Of youth passed like a swellF
Of melody all unbrokenC
Till evil wrought its spellF
And dream embroidered curtainsG
Of slumber round her fellF
-
The wood grew up round her castleH
The centuries o'er it rolledI
Wrapping its slumb'rous turretsJ
In clinging robes of mouldI
And her name became a legendA
By Winter fire sides toldI
-
Till the Prince came over the mountainsG
In the morning glow of youthK
The forest sank before himL
Like wrong before the truthK
And he passed the dim old portalH
With its warders so uncouthK
-
Woke with a kiss the PrincessM
And broke enchantment's chainN
The sleepy old castle wonderedO
In its cobweb cumbered brainN
At the tide of life and pleasureP
That poured through each stony veinN
-
And so love conquered an evilH
Centuries old in mightQ
Scattering drowsy glamourP
Piercing the murky nightQ
Leading from thrall and darknessR
Beauty and joy and lightQ
