Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GBGB FEHE FFHF IJKJ GFLF

Old lady put your glasses onA
With polished lenses mounting goldenB
And once again look slowly throughC
The album oldenB
-
How the old portraits take you backD
To friends who once would 'round you gatherE
All scattered now like frosted leavesF
In blustering weatherE
-
Why who is this the bright coquetteG
Her eyes with Love's bright arrows ladenB
Poor Nell she's living single yetG
An ancient maidenB
-
And this the fragile poetessF
Whose high soul yearnings nought can smotherE
She's stouter far than I am nowH
A kind grandmotherE
-
Who is this girl with flowing curlsF
Who on the golden future musesF
What splendid hair she had and nowH
A 'front' she usesF
-
And this Why if it's not my ownI
And did I really e'er resembleJ
That bright young creature Take the bookK
My old hands trembleJ
-
It seems that only yesterdayG
We all were young ah how time passesF
Old lady put the album downL
And wipe your glassesF
