Through the windows on the parkA
Float the waltzes weirdly sweetB
In the light and in the darkA
Rings the chime of dancing feetB
Mid the branches all a rowC
Fiery jewels gleam and glowC
Dreamingly we walk beneathD
Ah so slowC
-
All the air is full of loveE
Misty shadows wrap us roundF
Light below and dark aboveE
Filled with softly surging soundF
See the forehead of the NightG
Garlanded with flowers of lightG
And her goblet crowned with wineH
Golden brightG
-
Ah those deep alluring eyesI
Quiet as a haunted lakeJ
In their depths the passion liesI
Half in slumber half awakeJ
Lay thy warm white hand in mineH
Let the fingers clasp and twineH
While my eager panting heartK
Beats 'gainst thineH
-
Bring thy velvet lips a nearL
Mine are hungry for a kissM
Gladly will I sate them dearL
Closer closer this and thisM
On thy lips love's seal I layN
Nevermore to pass awayN
That was all last night you knowC
But to dayN
-
Chinese lanterns hung in stringsO
Painted paper penny dipsP
Filled with roasted moths and thingsO
Greasy with the tallow dripsP
Wet and torn with rusty wireQ
Blackened by the dying fireQ
Withered flowers trampled deepR
In the mireS
-
Chinese lanterns Bernstein's bandT
Belladonna lily whiteG
These made up the fairy landT
Where I wandered all last nightG
Ruled in all its rosy glowC
By a merry Queen you knowC
Jolly dancing laughing witchingU
Veuve CliquotG
