Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFEGHIHJCKLM

The thunder of gunsA
The screams of a horseB
Fields full of bloodC
Now a matter of courseB
Trees are all shatteredD
Bodies lie all aroundE
Rats eating dead fleshF
Bones cover the groundE
Dreams now of gloryG
Are thought of no moreH
Just raw bloody carnageI
That s the reality of warH
J
Some dead lie in mudC
Or barbed wire pinnedK
Their lives have been takenL
Souls blown on the windM
