| A cold cold silence hangs about | B |
| Now that the final candle | C |
| Has flickered and died out | B |
| The wind without the four walls | D |
| Turns its whisper to a weep | E |
| But neither wind nor rain can enter | F |
| Where all but Anne now sleep | E |
| Out across the moorlands | G |
| The winter's packed and gone | H |
| And springtime reigns majestic | I |
| With the first new lambs now born | J |
| But the sisters they see nothing | K |
| There's a darkness in their eyes | L |
| Imprisoned thus forever | F |
| No door nor window to the skies | L |
| Time has passed and proven | M |
| Each one equal to any man | N |
| Thus we treasure the web once woven | M |
