Rime 43 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBC BDEF GHI JKL

Harsh is my fortune but harsher still is the fateA
dealt me by my count he flees from meB
I follow him others long for meB
I cannot look at another man's faceC
-
I hate him who loves me love him who scorns meB
against the humble lover my heart rebelsD
but I am humble to him who kill my hopeE
my soul longs for such harmful foodF
-
-
He constantly gives me cause for angerG
while others seek to give me comfort and peaceH
these I ignore and I cling instead to himI
-
-
Thus in your school Love we receiveJ
always the opposite of what we deserveK
the humble are despised the heartless rewardedL
