Rhyme Scheme: ABCDCEFCCGHHIJCIIKH

Sad Catullus stop playing the foolA
and let what you know leads you to ruin endB
Once bright days shone for youC
when you came often drawn to the girlD
loved as no other will be loved by youC
Then there were many pleasures with herE
that you wished and the girl not unwillingF
truly the bright days shone for youC
And now she no longer wants you and youC
weak man be unwilling to chase what fleesG
or live in misery be strong minded stand firmH
Goodbye girl now Catullus is firmH
he doesn t search for you won t ask unwillinglyI
But you ll grieve when nobody asksJ
Woe to you wicked girl what life s left for youC
Who ll submit to you now Who ll see your beautyI
Who now will you love Whose will they say you ll beI
Who will you kiss Whose lips will you biteK
But you Catullus be resolved to be firmH
