I Was Once Your Friend Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EAFFG EHIJ EKLMM

The season of friendship hit by a truck of realityA
Draws the coil that binds to our neck the sins thatB
Pushes our head above the head of our shouldersC
And drives us onto an unknown land where disgust lives in our heartD
-
I was once your friendE
Playing under the golden plum treeA
Laughing in peace and sharing our dreamsF
Holding hands that held life s gleamsF
Singing the tone which spurs peaceG
-
But now since I am not your friendE
All we do is throw glances and insult with our eyesH
Why because you are jealous to see me walk to the aisleI
Hands in hands with someoneJ
-
I was once your friendE
Tolerating all the feigning smiles yourK
Lips provided under the influence of ulterior motivesL
Accepting the dramas of the nights which haunted our daysM
Living under the daydream of better daysM
