The Puppet-show Of Life Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACC DEDE FGGFHH IJJ

Thou'rt welcome in my box to peepA
Life's puppet show the world in littleB
Thou'lt see depicted to a tittleB
But pray at some small distance keepA
'Tis by the torch of love aloneC
By Cupid's taper it is shownC
-
See not a moment void the stage isD
The child in arms at first they bringE
The boy then skips the youth now storms and ragesD
The man contends and ventures everythingE
-
Each one attempts success to findF
Yet narrow is the race course everG
The chariot rolls the axles quiverG
The hero presses on the coward stays behindF
The proud man falls with mirth inspiring fallH
The wise man overtakes them allH
-
Thou see'st fair woman it the barrier standI
With beauteous hands with smiling eyesJ
To glad the victor with his prizeJ
