Evening Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABC DEBF AGBH AIJK

Oh thou bright beaming god the plains are thirstingA
Thirsting for freshening dew and man is piningA
Wearily move on thy horsesB
Let then thy chariot descendC
-
Seest thou her who from ocean's crystal billowsD
Lovingly nods and smiles Thy heart must know herE
Joyously speed on thy horsesB
Tethys the goddess 'tis nodsF
-
Swiftly from out his flaming chariot leapingA
Into her arms he springs the reins takes CupidG
Quietly stand the horsesB
Drinking the cooling floodH
-
Now from the heavens with gentle step descendingA
Balmy night appears by sweet love followedI
Mortals rest ye and love yeJ
Phoebus the loving one restsK
