Amalia Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB ACAC DEDE FGFG

Angel fair Walhalla's charms displayingA
Fairer than all mortal youths was heB
Mild his look as May day sunbeams strayingA
Gently o'er the blue and glassy seaB
-
And his kisses what ecstatic feelingA
Like two flames that lovingly entwineC
Like the harp's soft tones together stealingA
Into one sweet harmony divineC
-
Soul and soul embraced commingled blendedD
Lips and cheeks with trembling passion burnedE
Heaven and earth in pristine chaos endedD
Round the blissful lovers madly turn'dE
-
He is gone and ah with bitter anguishF
Vainly now I breathe my mournful sighsG
He is gone in hopeless grief I languishF
Earthly joys I ne'er again can prizeG
