Stanzas Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFEEEE GHGHIDJD KLMLBABA

God bless the man who gave us restA
And him who taught us playB
For kindness reigned within his breastA
To all our sorrow slayB
The weary heart the fainting limbC
The soul that droops in woeD
Should most unceasing praise on himC
In gratitude bestowD
-
He is the hero of the raceE
The toiling nation's friendF
For pity smiles upon his faceE
With joys that never endF
He tears away the iron gyvesE
That chain our best reposeE
And makes the deserts of our livesE
To blossom as the roseE
-
He pours his balms into the woundG
Of bosom weak and sadH
Till holy pleasures flit aroundG
And all the heart is gladH
Till all is sweet that here beforeI
Was wrapped in bitter woeD
And only gladness hurries o'erJ
The millions here belowD
-
Great man he is and him I giveK
That gratitude of mineL
Which must in brilliance while I liveM
With brightest glory shineL
To wreathe a radiance always gayB
Around the worthy breastA
Of him who first discovered playB
And gave the nations restA
