Nature has a thousand choirsA
Singing in the sylvan shadowsB
And the music of her lyresB
Echoes in the merry meadowsB
Always glad with golden gleeC
Sounds her happy melodyC
Swelling wild in fairy measureD
With the songs of purest pleasureD
-
Where the dancing fountains playE
Winding warbles shake and shiverD
And soft carols rise alwayF
From the ripples of the riverD
Sweetest voices fondly callG
From the fleecy waterfallG
And the joyful chimes are creepingH
Where the lovely lake is sleepingH
-
Raptures echo in the woodI
Where the pimpernel reposesB
Gladness fills the solitudeJ
Where the blushes kiss the rosesB
Sunny beam and somber gloomK
Utter hymns from bowers of bloomK
Where the vernal winds are cryingH
And the vocal birds are flyingH
-
O'er the smiling scenes of earthL
Nature throws no sullen weatherD
All her soul is full of mirthL
Song and springtime walk togetherD
For the harps of happy daysB
Wake the woodlands with their laysB
And where lilies white are springingH
Gentle melodies are ringingH
-
O wild Nature from thy soulM
Fill the human hearts with gladnessB
Till their lives shall gladly trollM
Songs that banish all their sadnessB
Bathe their breasts with songs of loveN
From the Edens found aboveN
Till their lips shall sing the storyC
Of their happiness and gloryC
