The Hateful Road Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB AC D D A EAA EA FAAA F

Oh pleasant things there beA
Without this prison yardB
-
Fields green and many a treeA
With shadow on the swardC
-
And drifting clouds that passD
-
Saihng above the grassD
-
All lovely things that beA
-
Beyond this strong abodeE
Send comfort back to meA
Yea everything I seeA
-
Except the hateful roadE
The road that runs so freeA
-
With many a dip and riseF
That waves and beckons meA
And mocks and calls at meA
And will not let me beA
-
Even when I close my eyesF
