Drill Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAABCBCADADEAEAFGFG HIHIJCJC

WHEN day's hard task's doneA
Eve's scant meal partakenA
Out we steal each oneA
Weariless unshakenA
In small reeking squaresB
Garbaged plots we gatherC
Little knots and pairsB
Brother sister fatherC
Then the Word is givenA
In their silent placesD
Under lowering heavenA
Range our stern set facesD
Now we march and wheelE
In our clumsy lineA
Shouldering sticks for steelE
Thoughts bitter as brineA
Drill drill drill and drillF
It is only thusG
Conquer yet we willF
Those who've conquered usG
Patience sisters mothersH
We must not forgetI
Foiled dead fathers brothersH
They must teach us yetI
In that Hour we seeJ
The Hour of our DesireC
What shall their slayers beJ
As the stubble to the fireC
