-
'A little Soldier of the Army of the Night'B
BURY him without a wordB
No appeal to deathC
Only the call of the birdB
And the blind spring's breathC
Nature slays ten yet the oneD
Reaches but to a partB
Of what's to be done to be sungE
Keep we a proud heartB
Let us not glose her wasteB
With lies and dreamsF
Fawn on her wanton hasteB
Say it but seemsF
Comrades with faces unstirredB
Scorning grief's doleG
Though with him with him lies interredB
Our heart and soulG
Bury him without a wordB
No appeal to deathC
Only the call of the birdB
And the blind spring's breathC
