A South-sea Islander Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFEGHIH

ALOLL in the warm clear waterA
On her back with languorous limbsB
She lies The baby upon her breastsC
Paddles and falls and swimsB
With half closed eyes she smilesD
Guarding it with her handsE
And the sob swells up in my heartF
In my heart that understandsE
Dear in the English countryG
The hatefullest land on earthH
The mothers are starved and the children dieI
And death is better than birthH
