The Shadow People Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDDEDEFEFGHGHIJIJ GJGG

Old lame Bridget doesn't hearA
Fairy music in the grassB
When the gloaming's on the mereC
And the shadow people passB
Never hears their slow grey feetD
Coming from the village streetD
Just beyond the parson's wallE
Where the clover globes are sweetD
And the mushroom's parasolE
Opens in the moonlit rainF
Every night I hear them callE
From their long and merry trainF
Old lame Bridget says to meG
It's just your fancy childH
She cannot believe I seeG
Laughing faces in the wildH
Hands that twinkle in the sedgeI
Where the finny minnows quiverJ
Shaping on a blue wave's ledgeI
Bubble foam to sail the riverJ
And the sunny hands to meG
Beckon ever beckon everJ
Oh I would be wild and freeG
And with the shadow people beG
