As the winds on the loud waves go | B |
And the things they nod of are many | C |
For it's many the secret they know | B |

Who lived ere the hills were high | E |
They nod so grave by the river | A |
To everyone passing by | E |

If they would tell me their secrets | F |
I would go by a hidden way | G |
To the rath when the moon retiring | H |
Dips dim horns into the gray | G |

And a fairy girl out of Leinster | G |
In a long dance I should meet | I |
My heart to her heart beating | H |
My feet in rhyme with her feet | I |
