Spring Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH IJIK

Once more the lark with song and speedA
Cleaves through the dawn his hurried barsB
Fall like the flute of GanymedeA
Twirling and whistling from the starsB
-
The primrose and the daffodilC
Surprise the valleys and wild thymeD
Is sweet on every little hillC
When lambs come down at folding timeD
-
In every wild place now is heardE
The magpie's noisy house and throughF
The mingled tunes of many a birdE
The ruffled wood dove's gentle cooF
-
Sweet by the river's noisy brinkG
The water lily bursts her crownH
The kingfisher comes down to drinkG
Like rainbow jewels falling downH
-
And when the blue and grey entwineI
The daisy shuts her golden eyeJ
And peace wraps all those hills of mineI
Safe in my dearest memoryK
