Anima bella da quel nodo scioltaA
-
HE PRAYS LAURA TO LOOK DOWN UPON HIM FROM HEAVENB
-
-
Bright spirit from those earthly bonds releasedA
The loveliest ever wove in Nature's loomC
From thy bright skies compassionate the gloomC
Shrouding my life that once of joy could tasteA
Each false suggestion of thy heart has ceasedA
That whilom bade thee stem disdain assumeC
Now all secure heaven's habitant becomeD
List to my sighs thy looks upon me castA
Mark the huge rock whence Sorga's waters riseE
And see amidst its waves and borders strayF
One fed by grief and memory that ne'er diesE
But from that spot oh turn thy sight awayF
Where I first loved where thy late dwelling liesE
That in thy friends thou nought ungrateful may'st surveyF

NOTTA
-
-
Blest soul that loosen'd from those bands art flownG
Bands than which Nature never form'd more fairH
Look down and mark how changed to carking careH
From gladdest thoughts I pass my days unknownG
Each false opinion from my heart is goneI
That once to me made thy sweet sight appearJ
Most harsh and bitter now secure from fearJ
Here turn thine eyes and listen to my moanG
Turn to this rock whence Sorga's waters riseE
And mark where through the mead its waters flowK
One who of thee still mindful ceaseless sighsE
But leave me there unsought for where to glowK
Our flames began and where thy mansion liesE
Lest thou in thine shouldst see what grieved thee soK
