HER RETURN GLADDENS THE EARTH AND CALMS THE SKYB

But when her sweet smile modest and benignC
No longer hides from us its beauties rareD
At the spent forge his stout and sinewy armsE
Plieth that old Sicilian smith in vainF
For from the hands of Jove his bolts are takenG
Temper'd in tna to extremest proofH
And his cold sister by degrees grows calmI
And genial in Apollo's kindling beamsJ
Moves from the rosy west a summer breathK
Which safe and easy wafts the seaward barkL
And wakes the sweet flowers in each grassy meadM
Malignant stars on every side departN
Dispersed before that bright enchanting faceO
For which already many tears are shedP
