HER IMAGE IS EVER IN HIS HEARTB
-
-
Where'er I rest or turn my weary eyesC
To ease the longings which allure them stillD
Love pictures my bright lady at his willD
That ever my desire may verdant riseC
Deep pity she with graceful grief appliesC
Warm feelings ever gentle bosoms fillD
While captived equally my fond ears thrillD
With her sweet accents and seraphic sighsC
Love and fair Truth were both allied to tellE
The charms I saw were in the world aloneF
That 'neath the stars their like was never knownF
Nor ever words so dear and tender fellE
On listening ear nor tears so pure and brightG
From such fine eyes e'er sparkled in the lightG
