Lieti flori e felici e ben nate erbeA
-
HE ENVIES EVERY SPOT THAT SHE FREQUENTSB
-
-
Gay joyous blooms and herbage glad with showersC
O'er which my pensive fair is wont to strayD
Thou plain that listest her melodious layD
As her fair feet imprint thy waste of flowersC
Ye shrubs so trim ye green unfolding bowersC
Ye violets clad in amorous pale arrayD
Thou shadowy grove gilded by beauty's rayD
Whose top made proud majestically towersC
O pleasant country O translucent streamE
Bathing her lovely face her eyes so clearF
And catching of their living light the beamE
I envy ye her actions chaste and dearF
No rock shall stud thy waters but shall learnG
Henceforth with passion strong as mine to burnG

O bright and happy flowers and herbage blestI
On which my lady treads O favour'd plainJ
That hears her accents sweet and can retainJ
The traces by her fairy steps impress'dI
Pure shrubs with tender verdure newly dress'dI
Pale amorous violets leafy woods whose reignJ
Thy sun's bright rays transpierce and thus sustainJ
Your lofty stature and umbrageous crestI
O thou fair country and thou crystal streamE
Which bathes her countenance and sparkling eyesK
Stealing fresh lustre from their living beamE
How do I envy thee these precious tiesK
Thy rocky shores will soon be taught to gleamE
With the same flame that burns in all my sighsK
