Aura che quelle chiome bionde e crespeA
-
HE ENVIES THE BREEZE WHICH SPORTS WITH HER THE STREAM THAT FLOWS TOWARDS HERB
-
-
Ye laughing gales that sporting with my fairC
The silky tangles of her locks unbraidD
And down her breast their golden treasures spreadD
Then in fresh mazes weave her curling hairC
You kiss those bright destructive eyes that bearC
The flaming darts by which my heart has bledD
My trembling heart that oft has fondly stray'dD
To seek the nymph whose eyes such terrors wearC
Methinks she's found but oh 'tis fancy's cheatD
Methinks she's seen but oh 'tis love's deceitD
Methinks she's near but truth cries 'tis not soE
Go happy gale and with my Laura dwellF
Go happy stream and to my Laura tellF
What envied joys in thy clear crystal flowE

Thou gale that movest and disportest roundD
Those bright crisp'd locks by them moved sweetly tooD
That all their fine gold scatter'st to the viewD
Then coil'st them up in beauteous braids fresh woundD
About those eyes thou playest where aboundD
The am'rous swarms whose stings my tears renewD
And I my treasure tremblingly pursueD
Like some scared thing that stumbles o'er the groundD
Methinks I find her now and now perceiveH
She's distant now I soar and now descendD
Now what I wish now what is true believeH
Stay and enjoy blest air the living beamI
And thou O rapid and translucent streamI
Why can't I change my course and thine attendD
