Occhi miei lassi mentre ch' io vi giroA

HE INVITES HIS EYES TO FEAST THEMSELVES ON LAURAA

My wearied eyes while looking thusB
On that fair fatal face to usB
Be wise be brief for hence my sighsC
Already Love our bliss deniesC
Death only can the amorous trackD
Shut from my thoughts which leads them backD
To the sweet port of all their wealE
But lesser objects may concealE
Our light from you that meaner farA
In virtue and perfection areA
Wherefore poor eyes ere yet appearsF
Already nigh the time of tearsG
Now after long privation pastH
Look and some comfort take at lastH
