The Baptism Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBCBCDD EFEFEFGG

an excerpt from the epic The Baptism at The SavicaA
-
The warring clouds have vanished from the skiesB
The war of men has ended with the nightC
The morning sun gilds the tree heads that riseB
Supreme above the Carniola's snowpeaks whiteC
The lake of Bohinj calm in stillness liesB
No sign of strife remains to outward sightC
Yet in the lake the fierce pike never sleepD
nor other fell marauders of the deepD
-
Is not this lake upon whose bank you standE
Brave Crtomir the image of your soulF
The clash of arms has ceased throughout the landE
Yet in your breast the storms of war still rollF
If aught of life's dire ills I understandE
The eternal worm takes yet more deadly tollF
Battens on lifeblood in its inner lairG
And reawakes the harpies of despairG
