| And calm the wildest storms that ever blew | A |

| And all the wounds they caused that still remain | B |
| With gentle soothing will be healed by you | A |

| The cloud then from my frowning brow shall clear | C |
| Within me hope will shine and thrive once more | D |
| And from my lips sweet words again shall pour | D |

| My heart no longer shall remain austere | C |
| And from the inspiration in its store | D |
