A Wreath Of Sonnets (11/14) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA ABBA CDD CDC

As over them malignant storm clouds flewA
Your poet's days were but disgust despairB
By all the furies harried he nowhereB
Could find release nor any rest he knewA
-
Once in Diana's shrine Orestes tooA
Had eased his weary soul from all its careB
So I from my love's shrine had hoped to bearB
Away a heart and mind appeased by youA
-
Such fleeting dreams were quick to disappearC
No sooner on my eyes had flashed the lightD
Of every hope than blacker was the nightD
-
Since then my heart has been both dark and drearC
How could the verses sprung from it be brightD
Behold how weak and faded they appearC
