The vintage friends is overA
And here sweet wine makes once againB
Sad eyes and hearts recoverA
Puts fire in every veinC
Drowns dull careD
EverywhereD
And summons hope out of despairD
-
To whom with acclamationE
And song shall we our first toast giveF
God save our land and nationE
And all Slovenes where'er they liveG
Who own the sameH
Blood and nameH
And who one glorious Mother claimH
-
Let thunder out of heavenE
Strike down and smite our wanton foeI
Now as it once had thrivenE
May our dear realm in freedom growI
Let fall the lastJ
Chains of the pastJ
Which bind us still and hold us fastJ
-
Let peace glad conciliationE
Come back to us throughout the landK
Towards their destinationE
Let Slavs henceforth go hand in handK
Thus againE
Will honour reignE
To justice pledged in our domainE
-
To you our pride past measureA
Our girls Your beauty charm and graceL
here surely is no treasureA
To equal maidens of such raceL
Sons you'll bearD
Who will dareD
Defy our foe no matter whereD
-
Our hope now our to morrowI
Our youth we toast and toast with joyM
No poisonous blight or sorrowI
Your love of homeland shall destroyM
With us indeedN
You're called to heedN
Its summons in this hour of needN
-
God's blessing on all nationsO
Who long and work for that bright dayP
When o'er earth's habitationsO
No war no strife shall hold its swayP
Who long to seeO
That all men freeO
No more shall foes but neighbours beO
-
At last to our reunionE
To us the toast Let it resoundQ
Since in this gay communionE
By thoughts of brotherhood we're boundQ
May joyful cheerR
Ne'er disappearR
From all good hearts now gathered hereS
