And baffled in their skill | E |
But One was there who rose and said | D |
To the wild sea 'Be still ' | - |
- | |
And the wind ceased it ceased that word | F |
Pass'd through the gloomy sky | A |
The troubled billows knew their Lord | G |
And sank beneath His eye | A |
- | |
And silence settled on the deep | H |
And silence on the blast | I |
As when the righteous falls asleep | H |
When death's fierce throes are past | I |
- | |
Thou that didst rule the angry hour | J |
And tame the tempest's mood | K |
Oh send Thy Spirit forth in power | J |
O'er our dark souls to brood | K |
- | |
Thou that didst bow the billows' pride | L |
Thy mandates to fulfil | E |
So speak to passion's raging tide | L |
Speak and say 'Peace be still ' | - |
