The Storm Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBC DED FAGA HIHI JKJK LEL

Mark viA
-
Fear was within the tossing barkB
When stormy winds grew loudC
And waves came rolling high and darkB
And the tall mast was bowedC
-
And men stood breathless in their dreadD
And baffled in their skillE
But One was there who rose and saidD
To the wild sea 'Be still '-
-
And the wind ceased it ceased that wordF
Pass'd through the gloomy skyA
The troubled billows knew their LordG
And sank beneath His eyeA
-
And silence settled on the deepH
And silence on the blastI
As when the righteous falls asleepH
When death's fierce throes are pastI
-
Thou that didst rule the angry hourJ
And tame the tempest's moodK
Oh send Thy Spirit forth in powerJ
O'er our dark souls to broodK
-
Thou that didst bow the billows' prideL
Thy mandates to fulfilE
So speak to passion's raging tideL
Speak and say 'Peace be still '-
