The Home Of The Spirit Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDF GHGHEIE JKJKLEL MCMCNKOPN Q

Answer me burning stars of nightA
Where is the spirit goneB
That past the reach of human sightA
As a swift breeze hath flownC
And the stars answer'd me 'We rollD
In light and power on highE
But of the never dying soulD
Ask that which cannot die 'F
-
O many toned and chainless windG
Thou art a wanderer freeH
Tell me if thou its place canst findG
Far over mount and seaH
And the wind murmur'd in replyE
'The blue deep I have cross'dI
And met its barks and billows highE
But not what thou hast lost '-
-
Ye clouds that gorgeously reposeJ
Around the setting sunK
Answer Have ye a home for thoseJ
Whose earthly race is runK
The bright clouds answer'd 'We departL
We vanish from the skyE
Ask what is deathless in thy heartL
For that which cannot die '-
-
Speak then thou voice of God withinM
Thou of the deep low toneC
Answer me through life's restless dinM
Where is the spirit flownC
And the voice answer'd 'Be thou stillN
Enough to know is givenK
Clouds winds and starsO
theirP
part fulfilN
-
ThineQ
is to trust in Heaven '-
