VALIANT sons of freedom's landA
Ardent firm devoted bandA
Rise at honor's thrilling callB
Warriors arm shall Britain fallB
Rush battle steedC
Bleed soldiers bleedC
For Britain's throne for glory's meedC
-
Heroes to the combat flyD
Proud to struggle blest to dieD
Go should death your efforts crownE
Mount the pinions of renownE
Go tell our siresF
Their daring firesG
Glow in our lofty souls till life expiresG
-
Tell them ne'er shall Britain yieldC
Whilst a hand the sword can wieldC
Tell them we the strife maintainH
Tell them we defy the chainH
In heart the sameI
In patriot flameI
We emulate their brightest fameI
-
Shades of sainted chiefs be nearJ
Frown on Albion's lifted spearJ
Point the falchion guide the carK
Flaming through the ranks of warL
Rise on the fieldC
With sword and shieldC
To British eyes in forms of light reveal'dC
-
Spark of freedom blaze on highD
Wilt thou quiver shalt thou dieD
Never never holy fireM
Mount irradiate beam aspireN
-
Our foes consumeO
Our swords illumeO
And chase the dark horizon's gloomO
-
Shall the Roman arms invadeC
Mona's dark and hallow'd shadeC
By the dread mysterious wandC
Waving in the Druid's handC
By ev'ry riteC
Of Mona's nightC
Arm warriors arm in sacred cause uniteC
-
Honor while thy bands disdainH
Slav'ry's dark debasing chainH
Britain while thy sons are freeP
Dauntless faithful firm for theeP
Mona while at thy commandC
Ardent bold sublime they standC
Proud foes in vainH
Prepare the chainH
For Albion unsubdu'd shall reignH
-
Lo we see a flame divineQ
Blaze o'er Mona's awful shrineQ
Lo we hear a voice proclaimO
'Albion thine immortal fame '-
Arise ye braveR
To bleed to saveR
Tho' proud in pomp yon Roman eagles waveR
-
C sar come in ten fold mailS
Will thine arms like ours availS
C sar let thy falchions blazeT
Will they dim fair Freedom's raysT
C sar boast thy wide controlU
Canst thou chain th' aspiring soulU
What steel can bindC
The soaring mindC
Free as the light the wave the windC
