Rhyme Scheme: AAAA AABAA AA CAD AEAFAACCDAAGAAAAH

Her grave sweet haughtinessA
Pleaseth me and in like wiseA
Her quiet ironiesA
Others are beautiful none more some lessA
-
I suppose when poetry comes down to factsA
When our souls are returned to the godsA
And the spheres they belong inB
Here in the every day where our actsA
Rise up and judge usA
-
I suppose there are a few dozen veritiesA
That no shift of mood can shake from usA
-
One place where we'd rather have teaC
Thus far hath modernity brought usA
'Tea' Damn youD
-
Have tea damn the CaesarsA
Talk of the latest success give wing to some scandalE
Garble a name we detest and for prejudiceA
Set loose the whole consummate packF
to bay like Sir Roger de Coverley'sA
This our reward for our worksA
sic crescit gloria mundiC
Some circle of not more than threeC
that we prefer to play up toD
Some few whom we'd rather pleaseA
than hear the whole aegrum vulgusA
Splitting its beery jowlG
a meaowling our praisesA
Some certain peculiar thingsA
cari laresque penatesA
Some certain accustomed formsA
the absolute unimportantH
