Rhyme Scheme: ABCD BAE FGHIJ KAL MNHALO P N

Oh' motherA
yhu are rich and wealthyB
your milky river mixed with oilC
and your fertile soil produces green pasturesD
-
But your children are selfish and greedyB
your prodigal sons are in the chamberA
under the stench of cool breezeE
-
sleeping and snoringF
cascading down our rivers of hopeG
your eldest sons from Adamawa and Daura have not gone to restH
They still suck from your sagging breast at sI
and care less about the well being of the younger onesJ
-
Oh' mother yhu are th years oldK
but still a crawling toddlerA
in the hands of your greedy childrenL
-
I hope these torments leave so soonM
when the yhunger ones take chargeN
to suck from your standing breastH
I hope yhu get well soon motherA
from the shackles and manacles of corruptionL
Mother NigeriaO
-
Happy independence dayP
