| The former was mewing to give hope | D |
| But the latter roars like a lion to devour hope | D |

| Hope has been imprisoned millions times | E |
| In the shelter of the masses | F |
| Promising the land that he will be free sooner | G |

| Manifesting with sweet tongues | H |
| And campaigning to create hope against hope | D |

| We beseech that we still have hope | D |
| We hope against hope that our system will not be failed | I |
