The Train Dogs Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCB ADEED AFGGF AHIIH

Out of the night and the northA
Savage of breed and of boneB
Shaggy and swift comes the yelping bandC
Freighters of fur from the voiceless landC
That sleeps in the Arctic zoneB
-
Laden with skins from the northA
Beaver and bear and raccoonD
Marten and mink from the polar beltsE
Otter and ermine and sable peltsE
The spoils of the hunter's moonD
-
Out of the night and the northA
Sinewy fearless and fleetF
Urging the pack through the pathless snowG
The Indian driver calling lowG
Follows with moccasined feetF
-
Ships of the night and the northA
Freighters on prairies and plainsH
Carrying cargoes from field and floodI
They scent the trail through their wild red bloodI
The wolfish blood in their veinsH
