The Songster Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAAAB CBCB DEFFDE CBCB

Music music with throb and swingA
Of a plaintive note and longB
'Tis a note no human throat could singA
No harp with its dulcet golden stringA
Nor lute nor lyre with liquid ringA
Is sweet as the robin's songB
-
He sings for love of the seasonC
When the days grow warm and longB
For the beautiful God sent reasonC
That his breast was born for songB
-
Calling calling so fresh and clearD
Through the song sweet days of MayE
Warbling there and whistling hereF
He swells his voice on the drinking earF
On the great wide pulsing atmosphereD
Till his music drowns the dayE
-
He sings for love of the seasonC
When the days grow warm and longB
For the beautiful God sent reasonC
That his breast was born for songB
