The Mariner Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BAAAB CDDDC EDFFE GHHHG DIIID

Wreck and stray and castaway SWINBURNEA
-
Once more adriftB
O'er dappling sea and broad lagoonA
O'er frowning cliff and yellow duneA
The long warm lights of afternoonA
Like jewel dustings siftB
-
Once more awakeC
I dreamed an hour of port and quayD
Of anchorage not meant for meD
The sea the sea the hungry seaD
Came rolling up the breakC
-
Once more afloatE
The billows on my moorings press'tD
They drove me from my moment's restF
And now a portless sea I breastF
And shelterless my boatE
-
Once more awayG
The harbour lights are growing dimH
The shore is but a purple rimH
The sea outstretches grey and grimH
Away away awayG
-
Once more at seaD
The old old sea I used to sailI
The battling tide the blowing galeI
The waves with ceaseless under wailI
The life that used to beD
