There's a brave little berry brown man	A
At the opposite side of the earth	B
Of the White and the Black and the Tan	A
He's the smallest in compass and girth	B
O he's little and lively and Tan	A
And he's showing the world what he's worth	B
For his nation is born and its birth	B
Is for hardihood courage and sand	C
So you take off your cap	D
To the brave little Jap	D
Who fights for Chrysanthemum Land	C

There's a Bug a boo building its lair	F
It prowls and it growls and it sleeps	E
At the foot of his tiny back stair	F
But the little brown man never sleeps	E
For the Brownie will battle the Bear	F
He has soldiers and ships to command	C
So take off you cap	D
To the brave little Jap	D
Who fights for Chrysanthemum Land	C

Uncle Sam stands a watching near by	G
With his finger aside of his nose	H
John Bull with a wink in his eye	G
Looks round to see how the wind blows	H
O jolly old John with his eye	G
Ever set on the East and its woes	H
More than hoeing their own little rows	H
These wary old wags understand	C
But they take off their caps	I
To the brave little Japs	I
Who fight for Chrysanthemum Land	C

Now he's given us Geishas and themes	J
For operas stories and plays	K
His silks and his chinas are dreams	J
And we copy his quaint little ways	K
O we look on his land in our dreams	J
But his value we failed to appraise	K
For he'll gather his laurels and bays	K
His Cruisers and Columns are manned	C
And we take off our caps	I
To the brave little Japs	I
Who fight for Chrysanthemum Land	C
