The Camper Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA BB CC DD EE FF

Night 'neath the northern skies lone black and grimA
Naught but the starlight lies 'twixt heaven and himA
-
Of man no need has he of God no prayerB
He and his Deity are brothers thereB
-
Above his bivouac the firs fling downC
Through branches gaunt and black their needles brownC
-
Afar some mountain streams rockbound and fleetD
Sing themselves through his dreams in cadence sweetD
-
The pine trees whispering the heron's cryE
The plover's passing wing his lullabyE
-
And blinking overhead the white stars keepF
Watch o'er his hemlock bed his sinless sleepF
