Prairie Greyhounds Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCCCB DEEED FGGGF A HIIIH JKKKL AMMMA

C P R NO WESTBOUNDA
-
I swing to the sunset landB
The world of prairie the world of plainC
The world of promise and hope and gainC
The world of gold and the world of grainC
And the world of the willing handB
-
I carry the brave and boldD
The one who works for the nation's breadE
The one whose past is a thing that's deadE
The one who battles and beats aheadE
And the one who goes for goldD
-
I swing to the Land to BeF
I am the power that laid its floorsG
I am the guide to its western storesG
I am the key to its golden doorsG
That open alone to meF
-
C P R NO EASTBOUNDA
-
I swing to the land of mornH
The grey old east with its grey old seasI
The land of leisure the land of easeI
The land of flowers and fruits and treesI
And the place where we were bornH
-
Freighted with wealth I comeJ
For he who many a moon has spentK
Far out west on adventure bentK
With well worn pick and a folded tentK
Is bringing his bullion homeL
-
I never will be renownedA
As my twin that swings to the western martsM
For I am she of the humbler partsM
But I am the joy of the waiting heartsM
For I am the Homeward boundA
